About Bill Swetmon
Bill Swetmon is an international management consultant and corporate trainer having created, designed, customized, and presented over 5,000 training seminars for many of today's leading industries and Fortune 500 companies.
Bill also provides performance-based coaching in communication skills and public speaking for corporate trainers and senior level executives.
Bill has received numerous recognitions for his speaking and training skills including a recent commendation from the U.S. Surgeon General for his work with the U. S. Army Medical Department. Also, while working for a national seminar company, Bill was recognized for the highest client-repeat business and customer satisfaction from among hundreds of seminar leaders.
Bill is the author of six books and co-author of five others. His books deal with a variety of topics including family relationships, friendships, etc. His recent book Communication Skills for the 21st Century--How to Understand and be Understood has received a 5-Star rating on Amazon.com, and was recently published in Russian. He has also co-authored along with Brian Tracy his newest book Getting Things Done - Successful Men Speak.
Bill grew up in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications and a master of science degree in counseling psychology with emphasis in guidance and counseling. He has enjoyed a wide spectrum of careers in the communication field.
Bill began his professional career as a television producer/director for an ABC television station in Kentucky. He eventually became operations manager, supervising all departments and operations of the television station.
In 1979, Bill was selected as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America; he is featured in Men of Achievement and is listed in the Second Edition of the International Book of Honor for his leadership and achievements.
In 2008, Bill received the Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Award, an honor given for superb communications and leadership abilities. In the past, this award has been given to notable personalities including Tom Lasorda, Tom Vandergriff, Steve Allen, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Vince Gill, and Congresswoman Kay Granger.
Bill's hobbies are photography, running, fencing, mountaineering and reading.
